Como is set to debut in the Champions League, but the club faces challenges in registering its squad due to UEFA regulations. The team has invested heavily in foreign players, but this has created problems with the registration of Italian players. The team has only two Italian players, Mauro Vigorito and Edoardo Goldaniga, who have played a secondary role in the season. The entry in Champions has raised the issue of limits in compiling the lists of continental tournaments, which are more stringent than the regulations in force for the championship. In Serie A, the roster of 25 players must meet the following requirements: 4 players formed in the club's youth academy (at least three years of militancy between 15 and 21 years old) and 4 players grown up in Italian youth sectors (at least three years in Italy between 15 and 21 years old). The Como does not have eligible players in the first group, while in the second only Vigorito and Goldaniga meet the conditions. However, the 25 available slots exclude players under 23, who can be registered in unlimited numbers, a provision that has allowed the Como to face the season without having to limit themselves to using only 19 players. In Europe, however, the music changes. The number of players registered in list A remains unchanged, always 25, and the restrictions related to the eight players grown up in the Federation of belonging – of which four must be formed in the club –, also include players under 23, who are not subject to exclusion as in Italy. Consequently, at the current state, the Como could register only 19 players from the first team, namely the 17 that can be inserted in the list without condition, plus Goldaniga and Vigorito who count as local formed players, while there are no players from the youth academy. To these are added the profiles that can be inserted in list B, which must have an age under 21 and must have militated within the club for at least two consecutive seasons. These stringent conditions respond only to some players from the spring who will hardly be able to give a significant contribution in the European campaign.
